At the cusp of the new millennium, we face an uncertain future. Yet this period of history offers a unique opportunity for conscious cultural change. The Horizon Institute: Exploring Scientific and Spiritual Perspectives, a newly formed non-profit organization (formerly known as The Center for the Study of Science and Spirituality), is excited to be organizing a conference exploring these themes.

CONFERENCE PRESENTERS INCLUDE:
Robert Theobald, speaker, writer and consultant, has been working with matters concerning fundamental change for over 40 years. He was listed as one of the most influential living futurists in the Encyclopedia of the Future. His most recent book in Reworking Success: New Communities at the Millennium.
Cynthia Beal, is a grocer, farmer, writer and plant conservator in Lane County, Oregon. As owner of Red Barn Natural Grocery in Eugene, Oregon, she began to research the potential impacts of Y2K which led her to a sobering analysis of the food chain, especially within the context of modern agriculture and food distribution, and the realities of small business in a global production environment.
Michael Dowd, author, storyteller and Y2K community activist, is co-founder, with Llyn Peabody, of the Portland-Metro Citizen Y2K Task Force. He is also the campaign manager of the Portland Sustainable Lifestyle Campaign: a city funded program that empowers neighbors to support one another in living more Earth-friendly, environmentally responsible lifestyles.
catalyst@mind.net has been a journalist for twenty-five years. He's written for and been an editor of San Diego Magazine and Seattle Weekly. With his wife, Judy Laddon, he published Spokane Magazine. He was editor-in-chief of Washington Magazine, and has been a stringer for The New York Times, The Washington Post, Newsweek. His freelance magazine articles have appeared in publications as divergent as WorldView and People. Newspaper features of his have been syndicated by Pacific News Service.
